The Choungui and Bénara mountains are the highest points of Mayotte.

Choungui mount dominates the south of the island: its perfect and steep cone, 594 meters high, can be seen from Petite-Terre as well as from Sada. Its ascent, possible during the dry season, is one of the island's must-sees.

Climbing Bénara mount (the highest point of Grande Terre, which rises to 660 m) is a hike not to be missed. The trail begins in Tsaranano. We walk first in the forest, before reaching the Andalibé pass. From there, the ridgeline leads to the summit of Bénara mount. The view, splendid, extends to the northeastern tip of the island. The descent takes place along the southern slope to Bandrélé. Allow a day of walking for this hike.
